Child Safety Week is back! And it promises to be bigger than ever.

"Get involved! The children had lots of fun, learnt a huge amount, and have been passing on their new knowledge to their parents and carers too."

In our survey to find the best dates for 2015, many respondents told us about clashes with other awareness weeks, as well as other staff commitments towards the end of June that can make it difficult to participate.

Child Safety Week 2015

As a result, Child Safety Week 2015 will take place on 1 – 7 June 2015. So, grab your diary now and pencil it in.

Our theme will be 'Teatime Terrors' and we’ll be using this to help you frame discussions with families around the risks of accidents at this time of day. For example, drowning and bath water scalds, road accidents caused by heavy traffic while rushing home from school and nursery, and burns and scalds caused by kitchen appliances.

We’re already planning resources to help you run events and activities, and will be launching the Child Safety Week website in February with lots of information, tips and safety advice.

In the meantime, we’ll be announcing updates via CAPT News. But if you’re looking for inspiration now, why not check out this year’s resources and find out what happened on the 2014 Child Safety Week website.

The last word goes to some of the Child Safety Week 2014 organisers (just in case you’re still undecided about taking part!):

"Do it and have fun! It got parents through the door and we were given positive feedback"

"Great way of getting new interesting ideas to promote safety for children"
